Community Group – Shrimp Boil

On Monday nights we have community group on the westside of Columbus. The group is based out of our church Veritas West. Maybe sometime I’ll talk more about the journey  to ending up on the westside despite the fears attached to that decision. For now I want to gloat about why it has proven to be amazing. One of them being living in community with friends and getting to do life together. We’ve chosen to actively make our church family a focus in our lives. Part of that is through community group where we all help each other grow in our relationship with Christ.

Typically we all get together and have dinner, discuss life and encourage each other. Some nights there is a formal attitude with some scripture reading, discussing the message from church and praying all together. Then, other nights its more organic and casual feeling.

Tonight we decided to do something a bit more out of the box for the family meal and do a shrimp boil. The weather was perfect and the food was delicious. It was really cool to see old and new faces congregating to dine and talk. Community group has proven to be an amazing way to stay connected, be held accountable and find direction and prayer in the midst of lifes constant uncertainty.  If you are in the Columbus area and are interested in joining in on a meal and even more importantly, connecting with people. Please reach out however is most comfortable. You can comment on this post, send me an email or use this Veritas link to see if there is another community group that is more conveniently located or on a better night of the week.

24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

-Hebrews 10:24-25
